BTW: it is not 100% complete, there are still some finishing touches to do.
Though, since I will not have any time to work on it for the next few months
I figured I had better post it before something horrible happens -- like my
cat trying to play with it.

From a technical/construction perspective I really like the model. I really
like how you were able to make all the angles mate-up cleanly as well as the
ablilty to skin the entire model in tiles. I also like how you implemented the
cockpit windows. I’ve seen you other models on brick shelf and I really like
how you are able to use creative SNOT construction to achieve the shape you
want.
I guess I’m not really a fan of the e-wing in general. The side view of the
ship seems really tall and blocky... where as the top view looks really good.
Maybe this particular shape does not translate well to the 2-d medium of
pictures and would look much better in person.
Tiling-over the model’s entire surface is cool, it also detracts alot from the
ship’s visual appearence. This is mainly due to the large gaps between tiles.
The other side effect is that the tile pieces look too small to be believable
skin pannels for the scale you are building at. It really breaks up the
sleakness of the shape (especially in the large slab-sided profile shots).
Unfortunately there is not much you can do about this since it is an artifact of
the tile piece’s design/molding accuracy. If there were a 4x4 tile piece that
you could use in place of 4 of the 2x2 parts, I think it would look alot better
due to the reduced number of tile gaps and a more believable pannel size. The
only thing I could think of that you could actually do is use a darker color.
The tile gaps are not as apparent on the blue portions as they are on the light
gray portions. Another option would be to try to build it at minifig scale
rather than technic scale.
The only other criticism I have is that the engines look too small for the size
of the model and they kinda have that last-minute-tacked-on feel to them. I
know you said the model is not 100% finished; so maybe that is something you
were planning to put more work into?? The tiny round engine pods seem to clash
with the large slab-sided nature of the rest of the design.
Hope you don’t mind a few points of constructive criticism. Overall, it is a
very impressive model.
