LOL! I love it. The absurdity of it all makes it priceless.
Please keep building and making us smile.

welcome.

Just dying laughing here.
Lots to like in this one. The SNOT side windows are always a good touch, and the
tilt out stop sign is also classic.
My only quibble would be with the back end, the use of the rounded slopes on the
very back partly cover over the engine nacelles, and their backsides are visible
from the front. That mars what is otherwise a completely studfree design. Also I
might suggest adding the flashing signal lights in the back and front as well...
Nice model, thanks for sharing!

i don't know if train guys use these parts like this, but let me say this is
like one of the most unhearty designs i have ever gotten to stand alone
without falling apart. cheifly becuase of how i used those windows too.

I know what you mean about the rear covering the nacels, but i decided that
viusually it just looks better than using the 1x6 rounded slopes, and i
brain stormed that a little overlap would be nothing for future designers to
build around. However the frontal view of the inside still annoys me too.
I was thinking about ways to continue that side wedge upward and integrate
it, but the different levels of snot make it kind of prohibitive... if you
look closely at the ambulance, you will see that there are actually a ton of
bricks and plates involved... still it was very close. about the flashers,
i know just what you mean, but didn't see a way to put them on the rear at
all, however the two sides of the front of the bus use those odd new kind of
slopes and i was hoping that they gave off the essence of the hoods that
usually surround those lights.... not good enough?

Travis, great work. All it needs is a minifig licking the window and its all set
to go! Beautiful SNOT work. Captures the essence of the short bus with a
definitive space flair. Lovin it man.

Travis,
A political grey-area MOC (thats a compliment from me to you), but an excellent
translation from the modern phenomenon.
Great work on the windows, and capturing the basic bluebird shape, but updated
for the 23rd 1/2 century.
Keep it up.

Bluebird... I totally forgot that name. I might make a decal of it or
something.

-thanks Aaron. I hopefully will have vans pouring out, until i run out of
those silly engine parts or wedge slopes.

Well to be completely PC, we are supposed to ignore that we are all different,
and pretend that we are all the same. Building the short bus reminds us all that
some of us are different.
And I say its a compliment because I like

There arent as many Bluebird built buses these days, but they are still the
iconic american school bus.

Outstanding MOC. I like the design on both this and the ambulence, but somehow
the color scheme, the little stopsign, and the whole concept work out best in
this one. You just need Timmy standing at the bus stop waiting to board to
complete the scene.

i can't tell you how many people said that over instant message regarding
timmy. Apparently the world is convinced that timmy is not only silly and
annoying, but special as well.
Oh timmy... eveyone hates you but me.

slopey, slanty, bricks. You have captured the look and feel of a bus and
speeder really well. Whats great about this is the idea of adding all sorts of
municipal buildings to a moonbase. I know A.Sneary has been mining that vein
for some time now.Now we need to see the Hover Bus taking kids to the zoo, air
and space museum, & aquarium.
my 2 cents

must remember this is the short bus... so there would be like 1 of these for
every 20 regular shool buses.
although some kid made a more full sized bus since i put this out, i added
the parts to my bricklink wanted list so I can build a full sized one with
the right color scheme. I cannot wait to make it. any idea what stud
lenght a full size hover bus might be? i'm thinking like 5 or 6 of the
window parts long.
who knows... if it looks good, maybe i'll make a tourbus, or commuter bus to
match it.

Thats just terrific, Travis! Youve really managed to capture the classic
utilitarian bus feel in a classy studless look. Great job, I admire a good
utilitarian MOC and this one rules.
Just wondering, you make great stuff, but I always wonder what would happen if
you took it to the extreme and built a capital/sub-capital ship. :)

hey thanks, i'm so into this kinda theme. I don't like making fighters and
stuff. You should have seen my face when i realized that there was already
a hover garbage truck this afternoon.

I simply don't have a good enough supply of blocks yet... hopefully soon
i'll try and make something worthy of some serious ooohs and aaaaahs, and
maybe if i'm lucky, even a gasp.
thanks for the cudos holmes

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Great stuff -
Im particularly fascinated by your inclusion of a sketch along with your MOC -
forgive me for being clueless, but is this common? If yes, can you point me to
some particularly interesting ones? Or are there too many to list?
I often find the ideation process (as is said in design-education-ese) to be
almost more interesting than the final product.
Do you do most of your initial design work on paper, in plastic, or digitally?
Thanks
