Sadly, I have not yet found a use for this, but any time I see something gear
related I try to keep it in the back of my mind.
|
Funny, if not utterly useful...
|
Im too lazy to count the teeth; and can not think of how to used this new
fine pitch without a smaller gear with the same pitch.
|
I guess it might mesh with good old 2877 Brick 1 x 2 with Grille
as gear rack.
|
Hence forth, this part shall be called the Column Gear (1)
|
If it works (I have no column gear to test), 2877 shall be called the Gear Rack
with Two Studs ;)

Note that the studs are not fluted like the rest of the round brick, and even
though they are not fully round on the outer surfaces, they _do_ stick out past
the fluting below them. This means that, while you may be right that this could
be used as a gear, it could only work if you aim the studs in opposite
directions and have them extend past the base of the mated brick.

Philo you were right! The new Column Gear meshes perfectly with the newly named
Gear Rack with Two Studs. (GRWTS)(1)
These are deep links to the new MOCup

The nice feature about the newly named Gear Rack with Two Studs (GRWTS) is that
the back of the brick can be used as grooved runner. And lest I be accused of
mocking the SNOT town types, I have used a SNOT technic(que) (pronounced
technique.) You can see that the GRWTS studs can be placed into the technic
beams to allow for conversion from GRWTS rack to become Gear Rack with Two Studs
Runner (GRWTSR)
And now the obligatory video

1. GRWTS is nice, but it does not have the same ring to it like SNOT, or BURP.
sorry.
