  Re: When was GMLTC started?

(...) As for an exact date, I'd use the date J-1 registered gmltc.org. (...) Nope. Can't take it. I had originally thought about the name "Upper Midwest LEGO Train Club". J-1 had thought about "Greater Minnesota LEGO Train Club", and even (...) (24 years ago, 7-Oct-00, to lugnet.org, lugnet.org.us, lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Re: When was GMLTC started?

(...) 1985 was the first year a layout was taken to a show. The other date is much more fluid. (I wasn't around for either; this is based on Conan's comments today while we were trashing the old layout.) (...) That is probably much closer to your (...)   Re: When was GMLTC started? (was: Re: For the history books -- LUG & LTC dates of formation)

(...) Why exactly? (both senses...) That is, exactly why do you need to know this, and why does it have to be exact? Would the year be good enough? GMLTC started from one guy and his uncle who loved LEGO and grew from there. It's the granddaddy of (...)   When was GMLTC started? (was: Re: For the history books -- LUG & LTC dates of formation)

(...) Would anyone happen to know an exact date for either of those? (...) I guess what I'm looking for is the exact date on which GMLTC started calling itself GMLTC (i.e., that it became that entity, however informally) and also, if known, the date (...)   Re: Big Lots

I work at maplewood mall and there is a big lots on white bear ave. off of 694. I did find two system sets there ( a time twister set (6495) which i purchased two of and an the cheif minifig from the western theme). Savings were pretty mior though. (...)   Re: Big Lots

(...) Todd, I went there, and it is still there. No lego's though, but they were having a holiday sale. Lots of other toys though :) It is right by Woody's. Let me know if you are looking for anything, I will keep an eye out for it. Jamie (24 years ago, 27-Sep-00, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Re: Big Lots

(...) I miss family and friends, of course, but I also miss, yeah, the sliders at White Castle at 1 o'clock in the morning. Happy to be without the mosquitos in August but miss the ice sculptures in February. :) --Todd (24 years ago, 26-Sep-00, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Re: Big Lots

Todd, I do believe it is still there. That is so close to my work. I can probably see it across the road (well, at least 62/212 :) ) I will check it out this week and let you know. I visited one in Las Vegas when I was last there. Anything else you (...) (24 years ago, 26-Sep-00, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Re: Big Lots

(...) The Big Lots are new, the one in New Hope (its in the same building where the K-Mart is) has only been open a short while and the other I know about is in White Bear Lake next to that K-Mart has been open 2 weeks. I don't know about a Tuesday (...) (24 years ago, 25-Sep-00, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Re: Big Lots

(...) Do they still have Tuesday Morning in EP? There was one on Shady Oak Road when I lived there. THAT was a Great place to get new LEGO cheap when they sometime had it! Ah, I miss the January LEGO clearance sales at Target. :-( --Todd (24 years ago, 25-Sep-00, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Re: Big Lots

(...) There is a great thrift store around the corner on Winnetka (sp?), it is called Unique Thrift store, a small chain of sorts. I have visited that Kmart also many times. I didn't know though we had a Big Lots. I saw those in Florida on my last (...) (24 years ago, 25-Sep-00, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Re: Big Lots

(...) Mike, Maybe you already know about this, but there's a K-Mart (or at least there was back when I live in Golden Valley in 1996) that's on a kinda obscure road in New Hope about 1 mile east of 169 and about 2 miles from the big beige water- (...)   Re: Big Lots

(...) Err, I guess the Big Lots I went to is actually in New Hope not Crystal and I have found out that there is a new one in White Bear Lake that apparently is not listed on their website yet as it has recently opened.... Mike (24 years ago, 25-Sep-00, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Big Lots

I had heard the other day that Big Lots had a store in Crystal next the K-Mart on Xylon (ave? St? don't remember). After hearing that some MacFrugels had gotten some stuff recently AND also after finding out that the two chains are owned by the same (...) (24 years ago, 25-Sep-00, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

Some good lego deals around the eastern twin cities

As a "proud (see disgruntled) employee" of sears in maplewood mall I've noticed that kay-bee has begun shelving the annual x-mas time clearance sets. The definate highlight of these is the hydro crystalization station for $49.99. Target also seems (...) (24 years ago, 2-Sep-00, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Re: GATS October

(...) Nope, we're tearing down. We're destroying the existing layout to build a new bigger/better version, and as such we won't be doing any shows for a while. Regards, Steve (24 years ago, 31-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.mn.msp)

  Sweetening LEGO Creator

Picture this: You're walking down the cereal aisle at the supermarket and suddenly, out the corner of your eye, you see boxes of cereal with little images of LEGO pieces!
