I wish I had some! Those would make for interesting floors...
Wish they were on sale on bricklink or something...

Cool. Do you have a link to where they are called this?
-- Hop-Frog
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | For those that didn't know, such as myself, the offical Lego link is at:
http://www.lego.com/build/ask/archive.asp
You want to read the part where Ashleigh asks, "Is there a multicolored brick?"
And yes, they are called "flame-colored bricks".

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Sorry to post again so quickly on this thread. I just wanted it known that
the page at:
http://www.ozbricks.com/blaktron/mottled/
has been updated to include the Lego.com URL and the new information on
"flame-coloured bricks." You can tell how lazy I am by the manner in which
I have rewritten the page (which is to say "barely rewritten").
Thanks go out to Paul S. for the intriguing pictures of these crazy mottled
bricks.

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | What gets me is the photos showing where the multicolored brick colors seem
to line up - almost as if by design and not accident. I'm wondering if it
is indeed design, or just a rather fortunate accident.

Whoops I made a typo. Did hed should be did he
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Well, I'm going to assume they are "extremely rare" in comparison to the old
days. Today, they probably only run through the molds 2-3 times to clean them
(the # of elements in a mold run varies by element), whereas in the old days, it
might have been dozens or hundreds.
Note what Paul has probably amounts to less than half of the flames from a
switchover, for most of the color elements he has (the pink/blue might be more
than 1/2).

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Dear Lego and LD,
These are the neatest pieces. I have heard of them many times but necer
seen them until now, and man, how cool!
I could foresee pack of 25 random mottled bricks for sale as a nostalgia
pack, maybe $10. Other neat ways of selling these could include: putting 1
each in a package with a short printed description and selling them in
surprise bags or including a similar pack as a bonus for orders from S@H
that exceed 200.00. There are tons more ways.
Please release to the public these awesome ABS treasures!

Not to bring up a dead topic, but I just got a flame-colored brick! Friday I
finally opened my #7163 Republic Gunship after waiting 8 months from the
time I bought it at the Discover Channel Store. In it, I got a big
surprise! Not an extra cloth cape, or fifth Clone Trooper Helmet like others
have gotten in rare instances, but an even more rare Flame-Colored brick!
Really!

(warning, LARGE IMAGES!)
In bag #1 there was an 8x2 45 degree slope. It is mainly white, but all over
it there is a swirl of PURPLE! It is not quite as crazy as the ones in the
above link, but it is sooo cool.
Also, because I originally posted this at FBTB, in one of the responses
another FBTB forum member told about how he also got a flame-colored brick
in his RGS. Here is a quote from him:
This has happened to me with A RGS as well.
The pictures are in Artguy's Brickshelf gallery, because when I got them, I
didn't have a gallery.
