As CJ said, SW characters make excellent peasants (Qui-gon, old Obi-wan...)

Wow! I can't believe you chose my pitiful site out of the dozens of amazing
sites out there!
Please link to the main page, though. The other stuff is kinda interesting,
too (and it ups the counter! :) ).

Hey, your site is really great. Don't underestimate yourself. And it has the
most concentrated minifig population I've seen around, except for Craig's (and
I'm not sure about that either... I think you might have more *castle*
minifigs).
I could, of course, ref to Craig's site, but I didn't because:
a. He doesn't have 'ny peasants
b. his site is the best, but it would be overwhelming to a newbie... when I
first saw it (some 1.5/two years ago?) I remember being really impressed. I
was also thrown off, tho, by the massive pages and heck of a lot of pictures
(I had a reeeealy slow connexion back then).
c. Making a newbie suddenly aware of the Dark Side before he/she is mature
enough to handle that (;-) can result in extreme side effects (such as going
to Clone brands for cool parts - we don't want that now do we? ;-).

(I love those counters, don't you? Mine boost my ego soooo much... even though
I know they count every time you revisit the main page, I can't help being
awed by the enormous number (over 2000!)... so when I'm in a rational mood, I
check the side pages. Going by the best and oldest ones (Scar, Royalty) I've
been visited over 450 times! Wow!)

All seriousness aside, teasing newbies is mean. (I can't believe I just did it
myself :-) We should only tease the oldies (1) because they know we're just
kidding!
Just like a newbie might be scared if Larry in all his glory would run down
his/her 8-wide train... while John Neal knows it's just fun! (2)

Hmm, but what are you going to call me? I'm not much older than you are
(I'm 18), but I've been on LUGNET since the beginning, and before that on
RTL since '96 :)

Now I am in a quandry...I am....over 30....and I have only been lurking/
posting in RTL and Lugnet for 1 year....
However, I did get my first yellow Castle when it was new for 1980 ...lol

Hmm... if I'm not a newbie, then you sure aren't either. I've been lurking on
lugnet since it started, but only really started posting around September this
year. I feel like I know everyone because I've read everyone's posts, saw
everyone's sites (well, almost everyone's) and feel connected to a lot of
people. Being a newbie is, I think, a state of mind, which might/might not be
connected to how long you've been on lugnet. You can *feel* like an old-timer
even if you've only been on lugnet for a month, IMO...
Oh, and BTW, happy b-day!

True. I'd feel like a newbie if I got into robotics more... I think you

If it's any consolation, I never do either. I asked for a metroliner for my
15th birthday, about 10 months in advance... my parents said they'll get me
one IF I'm still into lego at 15 (they didn't believe I would be!). Well, my
15th birthday came and went, guess what I didn't get...
From the second I started buying my own sets, I haven't gotten any lego
presents (except for some distant friends that wanted to buy me a gift so my
dad said 'lego'. Of course, they shopped by age range and got me some cyber-
master sets. Isn't that fun). OK, now I'm being sarcastic.

BTW, I'd suggest you (and anyone else out there) to add a link from your side
pages to the main page. That way, people who are referred to a side page can
see the rest of the site.
I do that, and it ups the counter too, because the people click on the link
instead of on their 'back' button. That counts them again... Sure, the results
are then skewed, but it makes one feel good about their site ;-) And if I want
to see normal, unaffected results I check the counters on the side pages.
