Beautiful! I want one! Some of the piece choices are a little different than I
would have done, but hey, its LEGO -- if I dont like it, Ill just change it.
The board is especially cool -- is that a new plate? Or assembled from a pile
of 4x4 plates?
Now. Being one of the poor underserved downtrodden Americans, how can I get
one? On whom can we lean to get shop@home to provide this in the U.S.? Or, is
there anyone who imports LEGO from overseas?
Thanks,
- Joe

If you go to the zoom pic you can see that its 4x4 plates stacked on top of a
32x32 baseplate in either white or light blay.

Awesome! It's like some sort of minifig pack with huge amounts of Shadow
Knights! And, is that a WHITE baseplate under there? Looks like it in the
super-zoom. I don't think they've ever offered a white 32x32!
Wish I could see the faces for the blue knights. The black knights look really
cool, except they use Johnny Thunder heads for the Shadow Knights (and the
Shadow Knight head for the king).
Hurry up and get this available in the US!

There's a huge discussion about this set over at Classic-Castle:

There is much worry that the figures are glued. :(

Well, holy horsehead, Batman. Surely they couldnt do something that stupid?
Assembling and gluing (or baking) the minifigs together would surely make
production MORE expensive, as well as making the set far less attractive.
One-piece minifigs makes sense for a keychain; you dont want them coming apart
in your pocket or on the train and finding nothing but a smiling head attached
to your keys when you get home.
But for a set like this, the inability to customize or repurpose the figures
makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. The folks at LEGO could see that,
right? I mean, surely they would ask somebody about it before they make such a
big decision. Who would actually say, Yes, sure, glue those minifigs together
so we cant do anything with them except play Chess the way you want us to?
I sure hope this turns out to be much wailing and gnashing of teeth over a
misunderstanding!
Sadly,
Joe

Does anybody know why the set number for the chess set starts with G? Are there
any other sets with G numbers? I've been trying to track this down but I'm
having no luck.
I'm especially curious to find out if it stands for "Game" - meaning there's the
possibility of more Lego games in the future.
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Hi Mike,
last day I was looking up the inventory for the Creator Board Game
and find ithad the number GA03,
so I think there's a pattern here.
Best regards
