Sorry for the poor scan, I did it from work. I'll do a better one later.

Color me disgruntled, but this looks curiously like a Megabloks Mecha/Bot/Thing
experiment gone awry.  That or a Galidor meets Lego Brick experiment.  Either
way, here's hoping there's some salvageable merit to this little foray.

Strange, this summer I was happier with TLC than I think I've ever been in my
adult life, and here just a few short months later I've got the most foul of
tastes in my mouth.

I was immediately reminded of

Ack. I was prepared to see Bionicle go medieval, but it's the Galidor figure
again.

Yeah, Bionicle Goes Medieval might've actually been pretty cool, but these are
freaking Galidor Redux.  Didn't they learn their lesson the first time?  *shakes
head*

Though looking at those shields, they might make interesting wings for a space
ship...

Woohoo!

That so much rocks! That kicks ass like nothing before! I’m totally enthralled by this GREAT GREATER GREATEST release of all times (and I’ve experienced a lot of times, including the boring 80ies and early 90ies)! Woohoo! and woohoo again! I agree 100% to whatever!

Thank you very very much, TLC!

In love,
Jojo

Huw, thanks for the scan.

My first thought is:  How can these be called "castle"?  Yea, I realize they're
supposed to be some sort of knight, but where's the actual "castle"?

I'd suggest calling them "Bionicle Knights", since in order to build any sort of
*building* to scale with these monstrosities would require more bricks than LEGO
would ever put into a set...

Well, here's hoping there is a few usable pieces in each of these sets, so when
they're on clearance 75% off after two months on the shelves they might be worth
picking up for those few pieces.

Can you tell I'm a bit bitter today?  :-/

Ugh.

However...  to me these look like an extension of the Galidor line, not the
Bioncle line as rumored.

Knowing that the larger Lego corporate entity (not Lego Direct) takes a long
time to develop a product line...perhaps development and manufacturing of
the new Castle-dor sets was underway (past the point of no return), before
it became evident that the Galidor line was a huge failure. Even though
Galidor was a bomb, the manufacturing and marketing for Castle-dor was up
and running.

Or perhaps these are Galidor Version 2.0. Much like Bionicle is essentially
a revamp of the Slizer / Throwbot sets. Even though the first version was
not so hot, the second try might be a run-away success.

Who knows.

Thanks for the post, Huw.

Rough day in Legoland.

I like them!  I hope they have some new/interesting parts for MOC's and
MODz!
