I have a question. For one of the vignettes I have in mind, I want to portray
Joe intentionally jumping into the water for an impromptu swim. The easiest way
to do this would be to have him leave his red shirt and blue pants on the shore,
having stripped down to his bathing suit (or skivvies -- up to the viewers
determination I suppose). Would this be OK?
If not, I suppose I could just have him leave his hat on shore. But it seems a
bit odd for him to be jumping into the water without at least taking off his
shirt...
Thanks,
Joe

Believe me, we had thought about this question for quite some time already, even
when we were first creating the Joe Vig character.
The short answer is No... Joe Vig must be made as described on
the Joe Vig page. The only
variable is his hair/headpiece. That is part of what makes Joe Vig Joe Vig.
We hope that this will not deter you from entering, and look forward to seeing
your Joe Vig vignettes!

Hey Nelson and Nate,
Ive got a question on the contest. Ive made a couple of Joes that I was going
to enter, but if I come up with a better idea in the next couple of weeks, can I
withdraw one of my initial entries? Or should I just wait til July 14 to post
my entries once Im sure which two I want to enter?

Bruce,
Good question. We can all think of something better later, but the entries
submitted thus far are considered final - therefore, the entries you submit (up
to 2) will be considered as your final entries.

One of the rules states that you can have no more than 4 pictures. Does an
animated .gif count as a single picture, or as a set of pictures?

As creator of the first animated vignettes, I never thought about using animated
gifs to display them! (How embarrassing.) :)
Since we did not specify the file format of the pictures, we will allow animated
.gif files to be entered, and each file will count as a single picture.
Please keep them to within the specified 800x600 resolution (max) though.

Good to know. I worried about that before submitting my animated Buster Keaton
vig, but saw that you had accepted Chris animated I saw Joe vig already.

Does this rule:
|
Entries must be made via posts to http://news.lugnet.com/build/vignette,
not to any other website, forum, or newsgroup.
|
...mean that I cant post it to lugnet.announce.moc? Or is that OK as long as
it is posted to .vignette as well?
I just realized that my first entry potentially violated this rule.
