Building / Vignette / JoeVig |
Oh, No!! Its Joe Vig!! Who is Joe Vig, you ask? Well, he is the unluckiest and most oblivious minifig ever created. Joe has no clue of whats going on in the area just around him! He is also electro-magnet for bad luck, and never quite seems to know whats about to happen... unfortunately, its usually just about to happen to him! Look out, Joe! Now you can build Joe Vig, and use him in your own vignette! Post it on LUGNET, and we will add a link to your vignette on the bottom of this page. (Please use Joe Vig somewhere in the title of your LUGNET post, or drop a line to the curators.) Special Note: If your images are on Brickshelf, please keep your Joe Vig vignettes in a folder called JoeVig - it will help for future searches and make it easier to maintain this page. Thank you! History of Joe Vig: Joe Vig was based on an idea by Mike Crowley, and Nelson and Patrick Yrizarry. The original idea was to create a simple minifig, which we had named Joe Food, and photograph it at various local eateries/restaurants. We were then going to post the photos on the Web to show how this minifig was popping up all over the place. One thing led to another, and Joe became the idea for a character to use in vignette MOCS on LUGNET. The name was changed to Joe Vig (short for Vignette), with no intentional references to any person, real or fictional. Feedback on the Joe Vig concept was positive, and soon Joe Vig vignettes were being created by builders all over the world. The Curators of .vignette sponsored the First Joe Vig Contest in June, 2005, and we hope to continue seeing Joe Vig in MOCs for a very long time. How to build Joe Vig:
What will happen to Joe Vig? That depends on you, the builder. The purpose of this project is to encourage vignette building and creativity, and to have some FUN! (Note: This is NOT a contest, but the .vignette Curators may hold official Joe Vig contests from time to time.) Build a vignette depicting a scene where something is about to happen to Joe Vig. Remember, Joe is OBLIVIOUS to what is going on around him! Presenting... The (Mis)adventures of Joe Vig: Updated: 2006-02-18 (Note: Unknown builder names will appear in Italics - please let us know the names of these builders!)
