The Mona Lisa uses a pointillist style that I first saw in Roy Cook’s Aayla Secura Pointillist Mosaic winner of best mosaic at Brickfest 2006. My method differs slightly from Roy’s. Tony, I don't think there's any kind of software that can do just that for you; you'll need some programming skills to do it yourself: Just suppose you want to make a grayscale mosaic --> 5 colors --> 20% of each color. Here's a technique I've been cooking for a while. I chose the CSF banner as inspiration for my first design in order to start with something at least somewhat recognizable. Yes, very neat programming! I tried to make a quick and dirty mosaic and it came out alright, but if I want to convert a picture, I'd want all the colors that are in the original. is there some tool to 'grap' the map of a jpg or gif? and then, what (...)
