Re: Mercenaries and minifig weapons... —David Low
(...) (URL) only fig I could find or think of was Pirate 9, as listed on brickset: (URL) know where else I might find him (or any other redbearded fellow who might realistically play Odysseus)? --DaveL (23 years ago, 27-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.loc.au)

Dave Low wrote in message ... (...) You might try 6706, hard to see on the picture but I'm pretty sure one of the soldiers has that head: (URL) Vic, I've seen stacks of these both in TW stores, and also at GB's.           Re: Mercenaries and minifig weapons... —David Low
(...) I noticed that one while scrutinising Brickshelf. The other characters would be one offs for me and there are a few cute parts (brown saddle, bush base, flag, bugle, hats). The set's pretty thin on the ground up here, and frankly it's because (...) (23 years ago, 27-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.loc.au)

(...) would (...) base, (...) months (...) exactly (...) Target in Melbourne (City store) had about a dozen or so of the 6706 sets for $7, tons of 5900 Adventurers for $1.70 and all their slizers for $5 each. Martin (23 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au)

Re: Possible savings at Target ('ta-zhay) (was Re: Mercenaries and minifig weapons...) —David Low
(...) Confirmation of above sighting: _big_ sale at Target (at least on small/old sets). Picked up <set:4806 the small axe cart>, and some other small sets, for $2 each, and <set:5936 the amazon temple> for $10. In other news, the Monkey Magic Magic (...)           Re: Mercenaries and minifig weapons... —Kyle Peterson
I have to second the motion that set 6706 is the set those particular heads come in. I purchased a slew of them at Kohls for $2@ awhile back. As a result I have many many of those style minifig heads. (...) (23 years ago, 27-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Mercenaries and minifig weapons... —John Robert-Blaze Kanehl
(...) I would have to respectfully disagree = ) I exumed my Wild West figures from my storage closet and compared the 6706 soldier and my "Red" Fox mercenary. The soldier from 6706 has a brownish red print while my mercenary fig has a brighter (...) (23 years ago, 27-Nov-00, to lugnet.build.minifigs, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Mercenaries and minifig weapons... —Richard Parsons
(...) Well, you could hunt the stores on a vain search for a pirate set (been there, done that) or you could wait until the tenth, and I'll bring along a selection of redbearded fellows from which you can choose one... Got any dinghies :-) Richard (...) (23 years ago, 27-Nov-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

(...) Marvellous!! (...) No yellow zodiacs I'm afraid: only one old red 4-wide. Perhaps a fig for fig trade is in order? --Dave (whose frightfully fugly Flybo featuring festy figs is becoming a stunningly swanky sloop that's swarming with simians) (23 years ago, 27-Nov-00, to lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Mercenaries and minifig weapons... —John Robert-Blaze Kanehl
(...) I acquired that head in a small eBay lot a few months ago. I put it in a "special bag" for future reference. I thought that head was different...           Re: Mercenaries and minifig weapons... —John Robert-Blaze Kanehl

(...)         Minifig mercenaries and modern weapons... —John Robert-Blaze Kanehl
