After Mladen posted his Stalwart, I wanted to do a mech design inspired by the Wanzers from the Front Mission series of games. I’ve never played the game, but I have a Wanzer toy that I posed with the two MOABs so you can get the idea.

Glad I was able to inspire. :-)

This is the first time I’ve done a mech with arms, hands and a head. I used Todd Amacher’s hand design, and the head was inspired by Moko’s Gundam heads. Something of Soren’s always works itself in, and this time it’s his muzzle-brake cannon barrel.

Get out! First time to do arms, hands, and head? I could have sworn some of your other mecha had them.

Anyways, for “firsts” your mecha look quite good. Better than good. In particular the red mecha reminds me somewhat of Karim Nassar’s Panther. Way cool! :-D

My second objective was to build something larger than a power armor that can carry an entire fig and still fit in my dropship. One of the guys in the Classic Space forum basically said, “what’s with all the wasted space in there?”, and he was right. It was a tight squeeze, but I can get both MOABs and all their weapons into the Aggressor.

Yeah, this is the problem I have with them. I think they look great and have all the requisites to make them “Wanzer”-style mecha, except for the scale. They just seem too compressed. I almost want to see them with longer appendages. However, it is still amazing that you got to fit them into that dropship. Well done.

I’ll acknowledge that the color schemes aren’t as tight as I’d like, due to parts availability, but otherwise I’m happy with how these turned out.

On the contrary, I think your colour schemes this time around are far more focused and realistic. This is something I struggle with all the time; whether to go for a very rigid, clean tripartite colour scheme, or for a more realistic but chaotic, varied colour scheme. I think you struck a nice balance, especially with the grey mecha.

Great job overall!
