Hi guys,

Welcome to the Royal Commonwealth Ministry of Space. It’s Britian gone to space... odd idea? Well it comes from a great comic called “Ministry of Space”... pretty cool read.

Thunderchild is a fighter/patrol ship. It’s build takes from this: http://www.ffbooks.co.uk/images/n24/n122765.jpg with just a hint o’ http://classic-space.com/concept/?g=SmallShips&n=117 (the drop seat canopy has been on the “to do” list for a whie)

Hope you enjoy the new spacey subtheme.

Big thankyees to Mark Sandlin for the logo.

I hate you.

Splendid idea; excellent execution. I especially like how you managed to make it look so retro-futuristic, in a colorscheme that stands out, yet could also be seen as a part of a greater scheme / fleet.

Excellent parts usage all around. The gray battery boxes, the ‘Fabuland Airplane Motor / Engine Block’ (4616) as the exhaust, the Falcon cockpit, the cement mixer (6682) part on the nose... The craft has such a visual ‘oomph’ and an instantly recogniseable style, which (I suppose) also has a lot to do with the classic-space colorscheme (grey!) and parts usage. (CS helmets! Hail!)

And I won’t even start about the seating system.

I suppose the name is inspired by ‘The war of the worlds’?

Anyway, I’ll quit now; you’ve had enough praise for a day. Blimey.

Jolly good interior engines and battery boxes. Bravo on the cockpit opening mechanism as well. I’m not crazy about the Classic Space helmets, though.

Nice concept but you missed a cheap shot- you could have used a Wild West “bad teeth” head on one of the figs.

The color scheme... hm... even a dash more red and blue and it would look horrible. A bit less might look better, but you’ve found a pretty good balance.

The overall shaping and detailing are excellent. I just love the “neck” area with the large quarter-curved panels broken up by facet bricks and topped off with a narrow spine. And the intermixing of slopes with curves is amazing.

Maybe he doesn’t wish to cause as much offence as you do.

Nice model by the way - I like the descending seat.

Very nice! I especially like the way you integrated the colored bits into the wing tips, keeping the curved shape inside the gray borders. And the coffee maker in the cockpit is a great touch.

Pretty cool. I read this series over the past couple of years, and find this to be true to the spirit of it. The exterior is bland, but that keeps in step with the inspiration. Great cockpit area. The battery pack greebs were perfect for the limited amount allowed.

I hope you aren’t getting your funding from the same source as the Ministry of Space did.....

You do realize ambassador and Britian don’t have the best history... Great MOC though! I love the mass produced/ heavily used colour scheme that is still sharp enough to make an impression... Other than that I’m not really qualified to make comments on space MOCs : )

God Bless,

Nathan
