That's VERY nice.  I think my favorite is the shovel.  I like the way it flips the
bucket to dump balls, and also uses the bucket to press the lever to load up.

But I have a challenge for all the GBC module builders.  With several of the modules
I've made, and other ones I've seen posted (like these) we usually go out of our way
to create modules that don't require an RCX.  The shovel is a good example of
mechanically doing three functions with a single motor.

I'm curious what kind of modules people can build that really require an RCX.  So
far, the best I've seen is a pneumatic RCX-controlled back hoe.  There have been
some others, but few make really good use of the RCX.

So, can anyone make a really cool, RCX-controlled GBC?

Oh, and did I say, very nice, Philo?  :)

My next one should be Spybot controlled...

Thanks, Steve ;o)

Philo,

These are brilliant! All of your modules are very nice, but my favourite is the jigsaw. I had to look at the pictures and video for a long time to understand how it worked. I finally realized that the black pieces on each side of the red “saw” must be crucial to its operation. I couldn’t quite make them out though.

The black pieces are constructed the same way as the red saw (technic brick +
inverted 45° slopes). The red saw has a circular motion, pushing the balls
forward when it is up. When down, the fixed black saws prevent balls from going
backwards.

Wow! I loved your first two modules, and these two are beautiful as well! Your designs have a wonderful simplicity and elegant functionality that is very hard (for me at least) to emulate. Just wonderful! And the fact that all the modules can make 90° turns as well is perfect design. I wish my recent offerings were near this level, but I love seeing the bar raised. Gee, could you come over for the House of Bricks event? Or Brickfest? ;-)

Fhilo, Awesome moc’s! When I saw the jigsaw I had to post a picture of my module. It operates on the same principal as yours but the inside saw is stationary. You Can Find 2 pictures here after moderation http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=17999 Great minds think alike,eh? Cheers Chris

For those who have extremly large photos from their digital cameras, and are
posting them at huge resolutions, I recomend:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe

Just right-click on the photo, and select "Resize Pictures".

(Nice pumpsteps, guys!)
