Here is the question:

What would be your LEGO Dream Set?

Before you reply, please consider the following: Your dream set...

...would have to appeal to both AFOLs and Children, worldwide.

...would have to be profitable for The LEGO Group to produce.

...would be sold primarily through the Shop at Home website, as well as in LEGO Brand stores.

Please consider these factors and reply to this thread. You should also include the amount that you would be willing to pay for your dream set.

(Note: This is an informal survey, and your responses will not guarantee in any way that such sets will be made. The LEGO Ambassadors are listening, though.) Thank you in advance!

I’d love to see a castle-themed Creator/model type set. Basically a bunch of bricks, and plates, arches, inverse slopes, various more specialized pieces (tiles, jumpers washers etc), and a baseplate. If they aren’t going to bring old gray back, I say use tan as the main color and maybe one or to highlight colors. It could come with instructions for various castle type models in various scales.

For example:

One or more full castles (maybe including a real life famous one) in micro scale.

A minifig scale large corner tower, gatehouse, or even a keep.

I’d only want minifigs with this if they went back to a more historically realistic style. The emphasis would be on the architectural building rather than playability.

Say a 600 piece set at $30 dollar price?

cheers

Magnus

A great question!

I too would love to see more realistic castle theme stuff like what I found in the miniland at Legoland Deutschland this past September, except in minifig scale (for affordability reasons). Basic multi-functional architectural pieces should be used, rather than large specialized blobs that have few other uses. The main colors should, of course, be greys and tans. Maybe we can even return to the old greys and forget the new greys debacle.

It would be really cool to have a whole line of modular castle sets which both stand on their own and could be joined into a major castle complex. The possibilites are endless. Individual sets could include towers, gatehouses, and keeps as already suggested, plus basic wall sections, stables, a palace, a dungeon, shops (blacksmith, carpenter, bakery, etc.), chapels, etc. Of course, the rooms should all be furnished. Sets could vary in size and price, but obviously the ultimate goal would be to collect enough sets to have a complete castle. Please don’t forget minifigs since they always boost sales, but make the minifigs more varied. I have plenty of kings and grand knights, but I can sure use some more smiths, serfs, peasants, and of course maidens.

Another completely unrelated idea would be a collection of sets of realistic animals like the ones scattered throughout the Legoland parks. The life-size elephants are probably beyond the reach of most of us, but I particularly liked the brown squirrels at Legoland Deutschland; they were much better than the red ones in Legoland California. The size, scale and price can all be tweaked to optimize sales. The life-size squirrels in the Germany park would probably work out to $40 or $50 sets, but I’m sure they could be scaled down to under $30 without sacrificing too much. Maybe chipmonks would be even cheaper.

Thanks for asking! Alex

I definitely second this. I remember this classic April Fools joke from a few years ago ...

I’d love to see tubs like this actually see the light of day. For a 1,000 piece “specialized” tub like this, I’d probably be willing to part with $40 - $50 (Canadian) - much cheaper than the typical castle set, but more expensive than a basic tub.

Of course, the same goes for other themes - space, train, etc. The new Hobby Train builder kit (can’t remember the official name) that was mentioned at NWBrickCon sounds great, and probably fits the bill here.

unrealistic: Bring back castle (not that kk stuff). I would love anything old grey.

realistic: A landscaping accessory pack, flowers, trees, plants in general.

even more unrealistic:
