Hey Brendan,

Trying to get caught up.

Eye gouger - Interesting throne for Hanun; there are some pieces I don’t recognize there. The shaved beards work well (brasso or photoshop?).

Aramaens - Some good action shots as always. My favorite image here is probably David’s army crossing the river. Return of the chariot design - I don’t think we’ve seen that since the Exodus story.

Ammonites - Good contrast in the first shot with the flowers and butterflies etc and then the army off to war. The fortress in the last shot is very imposing. The combination of those printed slopes with the printed (or I guess those are stickered bricks) wall works well.

Adultery, Murder - The wall detail with Jar-Jar heads is outstanding. How are those attached? Is the second image one photo, or a combination? Either way it works very well. Her 1x1 rounds are hilarious. How are her legs held on? I’m guessing technic half-pins, but don’t see the little edge. I like the zig-zag wall detail in David’s room a lot. I’d be concerned if I were him about that bedframe falling down on me. Great use of the snake. Poor Uriah, in that sea of yellow smileys he’s such an obvious target.

God kills - I really like your cradle solution. Why does baby sleep naked, but when he’s dead they clothe him?

Solomon - No real comments here.

Rabbah - Inconsistency alert - back in the eye gouger story the crown didn’t have that jewel piece. Funny detail that Uriah is still lying dead in front of the gate. The upside-down raised baseplate works well here.

Yay! I know, I’m way behind in commenting; I’ll get there. I just wanted to celebrate that you’ve finally taken on a Psalm. I really like how you illustrate some of the more abstract scenes (like the line about the snares of Sheol) as opposed to straight narrative. I’m hoping you’ll continue to do more of the poetic books, and also the prophetic books, to see how you’ll illustrate them.

Hey, now that’s sweet! Another great MOC from Rocko, but I see even he extends design credit for the wrapped-up baby backward to FBTB member 11Numb.

Hey,

That design was also previously used in two entries to the Colossal Castle Contest 5 - one by SlyOwl and another by Micah Berger.

YES! Is this the Bible or Fangoria?

I admit, it is sometimes hard to tell the difference.

   Nice shofar.

Thanks, I remembered that back when I did the Massacre of Jericho story I used only the bull horn piece as shofars, and Bruce Hietbrink pointed me toward a better solution which added the 1x1 cone. So I have to give design credit to Brickshelf user DarthMiller1.

Neat use of the jammed into lever bases.

Of the many throne design ideas I’ve tried out, I think that’s my favorite detail. “Jammed” may not be the right word, though, as I recall they lock into place in what feels like a fairly natural fit.

Always borrow from the best, I say.

Trying to catch up, very slowly.

David Collects a Third Wife - Great face on Nabal. I also like the pattern on his walls with the 1x2 brick with axel hole and 2x2 tiles rotated 45 degrees. I’m not a fan of the studs on the back of Abigail’s legs here, perhaps if instead you used something like this brick. In this scene I like the bed design. Is that a Fabuland headboard? The 1x1 tall round brick is nice along the bottom of the bed. Good blood trail in the “God struck him down” scene. In the last scene, what is that torso on Paltiel? It’s really nice.

David Spares Saul Again - In the second pic, are those real tents? I had assumed they were just black double slopes until I reallized that Saul’s blue and white tent was in the mix. Good use of the double sided face on Abishai. Why does Saul sometimes wear a Slytherin badge and other times not? (Also, is the non-badge torso a modified version of the badge version, or is there another torso with a similar pattern?) In this pic, is David’s arm and spear just leaning there? How many times did that fall down in photographing the scene? :)

David Joins the Philistines - David looks good in a Philistine hat. The repeated references to David and Saul’s reconciliation are funny.

David Massacres Women and Men - Lots of effective mayhem scenes here. In 27:8, the guy carrying a sheep over his head is funny. Great new camel design. In the very last scene, I think Achish is trying to hyptonize me through the screen.

Saul and the Necromancer - In 28:5-6 I’m curious as to what pieces make up he out-of-focus Philstine army. The necromancer’s home is cool with a jumble of all sorts of objects. I’m not thrilled with the necromancer herself made of all those mismatched bits. The use of the Pooh hunny pot is inspired.

Philistines Reject David - Not a lot here to comment on. In the last pic, David’s men do look fairly depressed. Good head choices.
