Hey all,
This actually happened last week, but I'm still smiling over it. My local
consignment shop often has $25 to $30 bags of used Lego in Ziploc bags, most
of which I pass on now because my collection is pretty solid and I still
have much sorting and rearranging to do.
However, last week was different. I stopped and found only one bag, but it
contained an old 1x6 yellow brick with the paper banner sticker from the
entrance of the Yellow Castle! WOOT! The fact that the bag also contained
some choice Classic Space decorated pieces was gravy.
The best part is that the sticker is in excellent shape given its age, and
the fact that whoever applied the sticker knew that it would last longer if
it was applied on just the 1x6 as opposed to the way it is depicted in the
instructions (where it covers several brick). I know I'll never find the
other stickers for the set as they also cover mutiple bricks, but it sure is
nice to have that extra detail on the set that I've rebuilt.

These are my first two copies of the part(s), but I've seen them in a bunch of
MOCs and am glad to get my hands on them (even if my actual LEGO building has
waned lately).

Actually, I didn't recognize the part until reading your reply, but I do have
two of the 6154 in red. Since I also have about half a dozen of those
trans-light-blue roller-door elements (4219), I'm guessing that this represents
part of the 6571 Flame Fighters set.
Thanks for the info!

Good grief, how did you find it? I looked under "door," "hatch," "panel,"
"shutter," "fire," "firetruck," etc. etc. etc.
But that's it--thanks for the help.

The single best find, IMO, was this
piece in not-terrible condition, though the paint is slightly chipped. I
didnt see any other Classic Space elements to prove exactly which set this
came from, but Im still glad to have it.

Upon further inspection, I found the 1x4 blue brick with the tell-tale LL924,
so thats one mystery solved, but heres another one.
I found a tow-truck hook assembly that looks a lot like the one in
this set, but the hook is metal and may be a
non-LEGO element. Can anyone tell me what other sets included this part? Its
red as in 601 and has a textured slope face similar to (but not exactly like)
that of standard LEGO slope elements.
Also, I found two vertically-mounted doors that I cant locate in a parts
reference search (and they dont come up under door). Theyre gray and have
horizontal slats kind of like
the classic shutter
element. This is a terrible description.
These parts look like they came in a fire engine-ish set, but thats the best I
can do. Any guesses?
