Just saw a LoM commercial a few minutes ago. It starts out with the 7315 Solar Explorer being built and a computer-like voice going "It appears that we were wrong about there being Life on Mars. Well speaking of old catalogs... Can anybody point me in the direction of the holiday 98 catalog? There is directions on how to build a trailer for set#3442 - the legoland truck (at least that what it says in the box). I looked for it on brickbay - (...) wow, I never noticed that before, but yeah it seems like the catalogs have gone way down in quality too. Jeeze I remeber buying sets just to try and recreate the scenes in the catalogs. (...) Okay, fair enough, I agree that the 2001 catalog has some pretty effects and pictures and stuff, but IMHO, they're still nothing compared to much of the old ones....I find the "cut and paste" nature of the pictures kind of cheap (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.year.2001)

(...) EXACTLY. This ought to go in dear LEGO, don't you think. The catalogs have gotten plain BORING. I scan through my collection of catalogs (catalogs mean TOYS!) at least once every three days and find myself WISHING that I could go back to 1991! (...)
