  Re: Battlestar Galactica on Mars?

(...) Actually, there are some other ways to name individuals from other planets. If I remember correctly, in one of the Stainless Steel Rat novels, our hero was sent to a planet called "Burada" (means "here" in Turkish). All the names here (such (...)   Re: More on the decline of LEGO quality.... [long]

Well speaking of old catalogs... Can anybody point me in the direction of the holiday 98 catalog? There is directions on how to build a trailer for set#3442 - the legoland truck (at least that what it says in the box). I looked for it on brickbay - (...) (...) Okay, fair enough, I agree that the 2001 catalog has some pretty effects and pictures and stuff, but IMHO, they're still nothing compared to much of the old ones....I find the "cut and paste" nature of the pictures kind of cheap (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.year.2001)

Re: More on the decline of LEGO quality.... [long]

(...) EXACTLY. This ought to go in dear LEGO, don't you think. The catalogs have gotten plain BORING. I scan through my collection of catalogs (catalogs mean TOYS!) at least once every three days and find myself WISHING that I could go back to 1991! (...)   Re: More on the decline of LEGO quality.... [long]

(...) I tend to agree with you for the most part but I do have some complaints. The 2001 catalog has some nice scenes. Take for example the Alpha Team, the heir to the town throne (or so it seems): (URL) how about Life on Mars with their nice (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.year.2001)

More on the decline of LEGO quality.... [long]

----Note: FUT: lugnet.year.2001 (I figure this is probably the best place but feel free to change :)---- ...Sorry if this has been discussed but I was pondering today on the subject of the LEGO catalogs. We've all yakked lots about how LEGO designs (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001)

(...) Agreed. Simple packaging sends a "this is serious stuff" message and keeps costs down too... look at how low run Model Railroad kits are packaged. ++Lar (24 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.lego.direct, lugnet.general, lugnet.year.2001, lugnet.loc.uk)
