Hi, everyone-- I haven't seen any notice about this, but Tim Saupé at FBTB (URL) has some *incredible* photos from the LEGO display at the 2002 Toy Fair. In particular are lots of pics of new HP and Star Wars items, but also *this* little Lego (...) (23 years ago, 10-Feb-02, to lugnet.year.2002, lugnet.general)

(...) spiderman pic makes it clearer. ...I suspect the stud is so you can stick posts to the figs (like the skateboarder) so you can freeze them in the air for stunts during movies. There's a few possibilities for what the stud is: - glued on, there were some minifigs designed to snap onto a shirt (like a 3-D emblem on a polo shirt...) which had a plastic piece with a stud glued to the back.
