Clever idea, the pole behind the skater minifig. It makes "fingerboarding"
much easier. Perhaps the "stud" on its back is of the same kind of the one
in the spiderman minifig. Further info gladly welcome.

Looks like the stud is on a vest, not the back of the fig itself.

...I concur. When I first saw the skate boarder I though it was a vest, but the
spiderman pic makes it clearer.

...I suspect the stud is so you can stick posts to the figs (like the
skateboarder) so you can freeze them in the air for stunts during movies. This
will be an excellent little piece IMHO.

...Of course, the best use for this is great little piece is so I can now add
lots of cool spacey backpacks for my BrikWars squads :-)

There's a few possibilities for what the stud is:

- glued on, there were some minifigs designed to snap onto a shirt (like
a 3-D emblem on a polo shirt...) which had a plastic piece with a stud
glued to the back. This would be a bummer. I also don't think this is
what the piece is, it looks like it extends to the minifigs neck.

- there was a space "bib" with a stud on the back, but it had some
decoration, I don't think this is what the piece is

- a new piece, a "bib" with a stud on the back. This of course would be
ideal, especially if it is not double sided like the classic castle
armor, but just fits on one side (note it would be useful for attaching
things to the front of a minifig also).
