Although the company was started in 1932, it was not until 1934 that the
name LEGO was used, following a competition arranged for that purpose by the
founder. Internal history records that he was unsatisfied by the entries,
chose his own entry as the winner, and awarding himself the prize!

| (...) Not plastic "automatic binding bricks" or anything like what we consider to be "LEGO" today, but I believe there were wooden ducks and cars and other play toys for children. LEGO was started in 1932. --Todd (26 years ago, 22-Oct-00, to lugnet.year.1932)
