How far is Fairfax from Franklin, Va? I'm going to visit my family for
Thanksgiving and they live about 20 min away from Franklin. This year is kinda
busy for me as well. School is worknig me over pretty good, but next year should
even out. If we can get something together, that would be great.
I was thinking about grouping units into round numbers. I.E. a platoon would be
about 20 men. A company is 40 men, two companies make a regiment, two regiments
make a division. So a division is roughly 160 men. Two Divisions make an army. 4
companies of Infantry, 2 company of cavalry and 2 special weapons platoons (
artillery or sharpshooter,etc. ) per Division. The breakdown of officers and NCOs
to regular soldiers is something that I haven't even tackled. Since General
officers seem to abound within the lego ranks, I have resorted to using them as
Cavalry officers. I use White eupalets to distinguish my senior ranking officers
( with stars of course ).
I was going to also make a supply corps with 6-8 wagons and a few extra soldiers.
They would also provide a target for the rebel soldiers to attack. I haven't
thought this one out too thoroughly. But it would make an interesting additon to
a MOC.
I know this may seem a little strange to take this vein, seeing as how most
soldiers are used as deep inland fighters, but I've been toying with the idea of
making an amphibious unit to deploy from the sea. Useing slighting modified
Pirate ships ( which fit the time era ) one could effectively land a company size
force with a small fleet. Would be interesting to see a BrikWars game with a
player assaulting from the sea to take coastal objectives. Just a thought,
haven't done anything with it yet.
One more Question to raise: Does anyone have any good ideas for a period cannon
carriage for artillery pieces. Other than the stock lego carriage ( which is fine
), just looking to see if anybody else has any ideas or pictures.

| Hey Joe. (...) It is about 3 hours. Little too far for getting anything together. (...) That is a real good way to split the troops. Much better than my way. i was thining too big. I am using the White eupalets as well. I also have used the yellow (...) (23 years ago, 15-Nov-01, to lugnet.western)
