Apathy? (was: WAMALUG's GATS Layout was a huge success!)

Why has there been such apathy towards Wamalug's train shows? In the past month, there have been a total of nine messages from non-members about our setups. There has been absolutly no discussion, no critiques, and very little praise. Do you all (...)   NGLTC at the 2000 Piedmont Division Train Show

I just got word today that the local NMRA has room for our club at their show this March. They didn't give me much notice (less than 12 days) but I'm scrambling to put together a small layout for the show. I expect the layout to be smaller than (...)   Re: Bright Future for LEGO Trains? (was Re:No LEGOFest...)

(...) I've seen this done the other way round (using a lego train motor for a conventional O gauge model engine)in an old "Railway Modeller" magazine from the late 70s. It involved splitting the mechanism vertically, presumably to maintain a 32mm (...) (27 years ago, 28-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.trains)

Re: Bright Future for LEGO Trains? (was Re:No LEGOFest...)

(...) I think LEGO Trains, as a niche market, would be best served by TLC focusing on producing good-looking sets, while keeping costs down. If the rumors about a Trains-meets-Mindstorms product line are true, that will (hopefully) address the need (...) (27 years ago, 28-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.trains)

WAMALUG's GATS Layout was a huge success!

As you may've heard, WAMALUG displayed a layout at The Great American Train Show held over the weekend in Gaithersburg, Maryland. It was a *huge* success, and we tied for Third place (out of seven or so). We had one of the largest crowd draws, with (...)   Re: Bright Future for LEGO Trains? (was Re:No LEGOFest...)

(...) Funny, that's how I fixed my 4.5v train stop signal (for lack of a better term). It was that red pole with the red train signal which was used as the train logo in the catalogs. It had a white what was it, 4x8 base that connected under the (...) (27 years ago, 28-Feb-00, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.trains)
