That's a good question about asking for layout space. I know on some of the
Greenberg and GATS applications it will ask for a max and min space
requirements. I have found that if we put in a min space that is always what we
end up getting, so I don't put a min anymore.
But I think its very easy to find yourself out of a show because of a large
space requirement, I've had Greenberg contact me before asking if we could go
smaller so they could fit more layouts. We were able to meet there request since
I didn't mind going smaller for other clubs, I just didn't want to go smaller to
fit some more vendors (stupid vendors...don't ask about our last show and my run
in with a vendor)
When asking for space I just go into knowing that we might not get the show
because we want a certain size, but if the show wants your layout bad enough
they will most likely work with you to either make you fit or talk you into
going smaller.
