Re: PF train motor / train speed and pulling power

Hi Ben, (...) How did you use the old 9V battery box together with the PF motor and IR receiver? Did you create a modified 9V->PF cable? I couldn't find a way to use the old battery boxes with PF using the normal 8886 PF Extension Cable. Regards, (...) (15 years ago, 5-Apr-09, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

LEGO Factory / PaB Pricing Study

You've probably noticed that the LEGO online Pick-A-Brick / LEGO Factory palette has recently been updated with new parts - and new prices. As an avid user of the LEGO Factory system, I was curious just how much the prices had gone up by. I created (...) (...) They made it 7.4V because all lithium polymer battery cells are 3.6 - 3.8V. Since this is a pack with 2 cells in series, you get 7.4V. A 3 cell pack is typically 11.2V. As you can see, keeping the old 9V system was not really an option if (...) (15 years ago, 3-Apr-09, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics)

Re: New Flexible Track Pieces (was: Has anyone considered molding track ourselves?)

I'm hoping for the non-checkrail version. It's not a dealbreaker, but on top of the color change from regular 9V (since I'm not ready to stock up on RC, just to add the new stuff to the old and switch the motors), the transition to checkrail track (...) I think it's feasible, but not necessarily for 9v track. Personally, I'd be happy even with RC track in a wider radius, and I think it'd be more feasible for the same reason Lego switched, it's cheaper to make, easier to design. Ben I think can give (...)
