		The City of Manchester, a private trolley car
I am happy to announce that I finished my first 8-wide trolley car. This trolley car was designed as a prototype for the LEGO Millyard project hosted at the SEE Science Center. The IR signal from the RCX is fairly "bright" (i.e.- you don't need the RCX pointed right into the Manas IR receive units to function, it can be bounced off other objects). (...) (...) I cracked the Manas codes in ten minutes with a photodiode and an oscilloscope. Turned out they were very easy to transmit from the RCX. Six hours? Seems a rather horrid endurance to me, certainly in terms of shows... But if the IR can be used with the metal motors, that oughta be fairly interesting. Though no additional wires, soo.... Hm. I want to get my hands on one of these (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains)
