  Re: Automated 9V Switch/Points

(...) I got mine from the 8479 Barcode Multi-set. I think there is a similar one, in red, in the 5533 Red Fury Model Team set. cheers, Wessel (24 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.trains)

I used a relatively new/unused white gear so perhaps mine doesn't slip too easily? A problem that (...) (24 years ago, 24-Jan-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 9V Train track DAT files?

(...) I found an unofficial straight track model. The weird thing was that it had yellow conductor rails. I changed the color to light gray, and they look good. (Other than the yellow rails, I think that they are excellent models.) I forgot who the (...) (23 years ago, 12-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.trains)

(...) Lar, I totally agree with you. Light gray for the conducting rails is not right, and it should not be made the official color. I was thinking about changing the metal rails to the color of the conducting wheels. However, I can think of two (...) (23 years ago, 13-Jun-01, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.trains)

  Re: 4.5V/9V silliness

I haven't found the train motors to be particularly good generators, but if you have two locos on an unpowered track you can give one loco a good push and the other will lurch forward... and if there's a light on the loco it will illuminate briefly.   Re: 12V and 9V on same track footprint

As you say this is hardly possible. We did that in 2001 (www.hot.ee/sonnich/lego/ - under galleries you will find the Baltic Train Event), and found it hard (impossible) with curved rails. We used straight rail for a "border" station between the (...) (22 years ago, 1-Apr-03, to lugnet.trains)

Here is another very easy way for your consideration, all you need is the actuator from the 12V points/switch or the 12V automatic level crossings, a short length of string (Lego string is good :-) ) and a dab of glue.
