Whoops... missed that bit.
All indications are that LEGO will be using the RC track for a long time and
they seem very committed to PFS in trains too and have invited various AFOLs
to help out with it. Id be very surprised if this system isnt around in five
or even ten years.

The fact that the new PF train motor seems to be more powerful than the 9 volt
motor would incline me to go with the new system. I dont like the dark Blay
track, but such is life. I will be keeping my 9 volt track and probably run the
PF motors on it along with my 9 volt motors.

After purchasing and testing the new trains, I found that they have great play (...) (14 years ago, 19-Sep-10, to lugnet.trains, FTX) !
