The dome roof is cantilevered on one end, and then held by friction on the
other lug end. I tried a few other methods to fix that free end, but they
did not line-up correctly.
I plan to eventually build heavyweight cars for my T1 in the dark red, as
most PRR passenger cars were that color at the time. I really like the style
of Benn Coifmans LDD
heavyweight passenger cars and will eventually go that route.

I really must do some Ldrawing of the dome car I built ~8 years ago, as it uses
the Star Wars style of canopy back to back to produce a quite elegent dome.

You might be referring to the style of observation car shown here in one of Mike Walsh's designs: (URL) This is from his Carolina Train Builders website, (URL) I like this style of dome and have "borrowed" it on one of my railcars. | With the holidays approaching, I have been working on building passenger cars for my 6-wide PRR T1 to pull around the Christmas tree. I was limited to the remaining parts from the 10183 Hobby Set after building the high-nose diesel (which is also (...) (17 years ago, 27-Nov-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
