Cool. Thanks for posting these. It is quite timely that you post pictures of theatre’s. I have just finished one and just rec’d the B-Link order today to finish another.

PS: snooping around on Brickshelf and I see updated pic’s of your layout and buildings. They are looking great!

Best,

Jonathan

hey jonathan,

good to hear from you and i’m glad it was timely! i just started to think about building the theater so i figured i better take some pictures. got any pictures to share of your theatre project?? i might need to “barrow” some more ideas from you! again=)

Thanks! I should be able to post pic’s of my theater’s this week. I just rec’d the parts to complete the 2nd one today and might have time to complete it this evening.

i was actuly going to ask you for some advice on building the Arcada theater anyway so i might as well ask here.

arcada: http://www.maj.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=922128

it’s windows: http://www.maj.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=922141

i’m concidering using the new wheel arch peice to simulate the doubble arch on the top floor windows. what do you think? i’m also curious to know what your color choices would be.

I think the wheel arch piece would be perfect for those windows. The issue will be color though. For me, color would be most important. I personally would avoid using white, though, being those arches aren’t available in light bley yet, I think that it is the most accurate choice to represent the actual building. But, for me, I’d sacrifice accuracy. I think for the body of the building, I’d use tan and use light bley/grey for the corner and the area behind the marquee. I’d try dark bley for the arches, windows and stripes. I’d tie it together with a 1 or 2 plate high foundation of dark bley as well. I think those three colors would work nicely. (if you do decide to go with white, I have some of those arches you can have - let me know)

The roof/cornice? Maybe mix reddish brown and brown?

p.s thanks for noticing my update. i’ll have another one soon but i currently have modules scatered around the room while i figure out the left side of the river.

Thanks for posting the pictures. It is really coming along nicely. Extremely realistic.

Best,

Jonathan
