The other thing I love about this film is seeing all the things it's
influeneced. This was very early Steampunk stylings. The Welsh mining
community in the high oriental mountain landscapes, and the flying machines, are
all great. But notice how Final Fantasy 7 lifted this whole elevated railway
scenario, and the engineer on the pirates' airship is the spitting image of Dr
Robotnik/Eggman from the Sonic the Hedgehog games.

| (...) Jason, you've picked images from my all time favourite film. It's served as prototype for many following anime and games. Ironicly the the robots and some other elements are lifted from Max Flieshers Superman animation. Building thr elevated (...) (18 years ago, 31-Oct-06, to lugnet.trains)
