A few keen-eyed Brickshelf followers might have noticed my latest parts mod,
cutting up the 1x4 black and yellow striped tiles in order to make the chevron
patterns for loco ends.

I used a Stanley knife, followed by a thin modelling saw to cut them from the
underside, the knife to finish the cut, ensuring a perpendicular cut on the top
surface, and needle files to smooth the parts afterwards. The result is 1x1, 1x2
and 1x3 tiles of the pattern, some of which can be turned at 90 degrees to make
the chevrons.

The parts: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1792112

The cab end of a British 08 diesel shunter (complete with a mistake by the right
window!): http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1792114

The end of a British Class 14 bonnet, with a hole for the route indicator or
lights: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=1792113 , designed to
replace the draft end of this loco:

I think this is a good reason to buy quite a few of these tiles.  PLMKWYT!
