For scale building I have used mostly books with drawings for British trains,
and I found the Model Railroader Cyclopedias for US steam and diesel engines,
but I'm not sure if there are books for mainland European trains. Does anyone
know if Continental Modeller publishes scale drawings in the mag? If so,
perhaps they have also compiled them in a book. Model railway exhibitions are a
good place to look.
My 8mm:1ft scale British trains here:

If I were building European trains to the same scale I would have a little more
calculation to do, multiplying up from 3.5mm:1ft (HO) instead of 4mm:1ft (OO)
scale drawings.
