Strangely I was just thinking about this before I came online, but to hide a 4
wide technic motor in a five wide unit. Im going to have to experiment tho as
the motor may be too big for the bigest panels. If not I'll have to use SNOTted
plates/tiles.

I did some brief testing last night with this. The Technic
motor(http://guide.lugnet.com/partsref/search.cgi?q=2838c01) does fit into the
1x4x3 and 1x2x3 panels, with possibly a very slight amount of bending. The 1x2x3
panel works better as the 1x4x3 panel has two small strengthening ribs under the
top section which are at the stud centrelines of the motor, forcing it into a
half stud offset. (see
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/talltim/Extras/motor_panels.gif to understand
my poor explaination)
The shaft end of the Technic minimotor
(http://guide.lugnet.com/partsref/search.cgi?q=71427c01) will also fit into
panels like this, but the other end is a lot taller.
