In wiring up our layout for DCC this month, we discovered that the LEGO track

only, or does LEGO not pay attention to this in manufacture? Anyboyd know?

Ted,
Ive noticed this as well. It seems to be worse with the older wires not
matching the newer ones. Ive fixed this on some of my connectors. I pop open
the square conector, and reinsert the wire. You ned to remove ~ 1/2 of wire
before inserting. Its also a good way to create longer jumper wires, or upgrade
your older wires. Ive used 20 gauge speaker wire for this.
The standard Ive used is, the wire sould go straight out the back of the
controller, and no looping back to connect the wire to a paralell track. When
connected this way, a motor on the paralell track should move the same direction
as the controller knob.
