Don’t forget the Scotsman.....

I thought the MoT engines were spoiled by the look of the wheels. I’d like to see a realistic saddle tank shunting engine (like wot I made), but would it be acceptable to ship it with push-along-the-carpet wheels as a motor substitute? What about a small older style of diesel shunting engine?

I can’t think of a particular large diesel engine I’d like to see - maybe a

I think the Deltic Class 55 series would be a good choice as far as British protos go.

   blue class 50,

Thats a good choice too. IMO, since both these locos (Class 55 and Class 50) are there in Microsoft’s Train Simulator, which is very popular, I’d say that they’d be known to a lot more people. And it’s not just MSTS that has this, Railroad Tycoon has the Class 55 too, IIRC.

but then could we get black-edged train windscreens?

I’m not sure what you mean here... Are you saying that you can’t think of a way to build the black edged windscreen or are you not sure that you’ll get this? (as in, a specific part?)

The latter would be cool though. I could use a few more of those super cheif windows in black.... 2 just ain’t enuf! Or any other colour for that matter. Its a favourite part of mine.

Even so, it wouldn’t be noteable even across the channel.

Probably right.

So, what detailed diesel locomotives from Europe, Asia, etc. (i.e. not while multi-car streamlined passenger trains) would have wider appeal?

ABB-Adtranz Blue Tiger. Coolest loco ever. Used by both KTM Malaysia and DB. I’ve seen non-lego models of it, but I’m not sure how popular it REALLY is; its just a personal fave for the ‘race’.
