Yep! I've started on my project for next year's BrickFest already!
Of course, there's some brick modification involved, so read no further if you
have a weak stomach.
With the growing interest in micro, BrickFest '04s fantastic micro room and my
need to push the limits, I am happy to announce that I plan on adding a
functioning 2 wide layout to the BrickFest '05 micro room.
The really hard bit is done - proof of concept.

and a couple more pics after moderation.
This is based on N gauge running gear, so I had to come up with my own 2 wide
wagon plate, which wasn't too bad. The loco was harder, as the entire structure
has to be hollowed out to make room for the motor.
So, electric 2-wide is alive and well.

| (...) Very COOL!!! (...) John, outstanding work! That is some serious kit-bashing! You have raised the bar on micro 2 wide trains, and I have a feeling I may be on the verge of my very first modification. This has opened my eyes, I only hope I can (...) (20 years ago, 13-Dec-04, to lugnet.trains)

| (...) Very nice work. I'm hoping that you'll drop in on the next WAMALUG meeting and give us all a preview, (Please, please?) Rich (feeling a bit Homer Simpsonish... "New modified train plate...aaaaaaaach") (20 years ago, 13-Dec-04, to lugnet.trains)

| (...) Interestingly, youre not the first to have tried this. Phillipe Label has done it too: (URL) some great work there. what did you use for the loco front? I can't make out. Samarth (20 years ago, 13-Dec-04, to lugnet.trains)
