I bought a Sante Fe set with just one engine and 5 cars. Similarly I got a
steam engine with one each of the caboose, passenger car, etc. Both these
sets struggle to run on tracks with just the one engine.

So, borrowing from the N Scale World, I decide to weigh the engines down. A
roll of lead weight cleverly twisted fitted in the back of the Sante Fe
Engine and a slimmed down roll fitted in the cab area of the steam engine.

Now, looking at the survey Jake has out, I noticed there was train weights
in it!!! Is this for real or a new to be introduced item? Can anyone
elucidate for me please?

I am a newbie AFOL and am not sure of the history. Though I did spend
considerable time looking at all the forums and multitude of groups out
there.

(...) (URL) exist, and the most recent release was last year in the Technology Resource Kit for the DACTA line, but the last Train set that appears to have included one is the 4552 Cargo Crain from 1995. You can buy them through Bricklink here: (URL) (20 years ago, 22-May-04, to lugnet.trains)
