I don't know much about non-lego model railroading in 110V countries, but if
these use 12V DC output as well, you may consider using a non-lego model
railroad transformer (check if it supplies enough power).

Living in a 220V country, and used Fleischmann and Trix transformers to run Lego
12V trainmotors in the past. Now I've got a Lego transformer.
