I'd have to charge at least $50.00 for a 275 piece model to make it worth the
time/effort to collect all the pieces neccessary to market this as a kit...

Well I wish you'd give it another thought, because if you don't bring it out
soon, I'm going to have to crib from it, mine (MTW-5001) are a lot smaller!  I
like it a lot and I think it's worth 50 easy.

Your tractor rocks... and theirs... well, it's just not up to even what any one
reading posts here can do with one eye closed.

Don't even get me started on their combine. I don't see any signs of motion in
the head (which doesn't detach) at all. Pfaw.

Contrast that with these sneek peeks of my upcoming combine... and let me
apologise in advance for the cruddy quality of these pics, they're not
production illustration quality that's for sure. But they do show the details
I've worked into the head and body (although not the fact that the cab flips up,
or that the head dismounts, or that there's an engine compartment hatch so you
can peek in and see the engine, or that the combine head turns when you push the
combine forward or back)...

(I haven't really talked about the Big Green colored variant that I showed at
NWBrickCon because as you may know, I don't think recolors are really all that
exciting in and of themselves)...

I wish JD would have written back when I contacted them...

Enough trash talking. William, Lar, you have some very nice tractors, and I'm sure all the kids at your shows will have lots of fun mishandling them. You've got yours designed for maximum detail, the ERTL models are more about getting the shape with (...) (21 years ago, 13-Oct-03, to lugnet.town, lugnet.trains)
