Thats an early draft of an Amtrack Superliner coach. The inverted 1x2 rounded
over bricks are held in place with styrene tube the same diameter as a Lego
stud. I use this technique frequently as the tube is so inexpensive (available
at any well-stocked hobby shop) and opens up so many possibilities. My favorite
use is for adding steps to car ends.
One funny thing you might notice about the Superliner coach in the picture is
that the trucks don't actually turn requiring this car to only operate on
straight track. I was rushing to build it in time for a show last year but
neglected to leave 1 stud clearance on each end for the trucks to turn! Now
that I have enough dark blue 1x plates to do the stripe in the correct colors
I'm going to rebuild it ... and just a tad longer.
