Jake,

Sorry for the delay in posting these close-up pics of hopper car (taxes, a
school field trip to the zoo, and exams kept me busy). Anyway, here they are.

I basically built the center beam of the car first and everything else
around that. The plethora 1x2 tiles with center studs are supported from
underneath the centerbeam by plates. Some pictures turned out better than
others but hopefully these will show you how I created the effect.

Thanks Jake,

I'll take some close up photos this week and post them. Robert Powell
suggested that I do the instructions in MLCad and put them on your site
which I'd like to do. I'll begin working on the instructions just as soon as
I finish my building for SCTLC's next layout in May.

Greatings,

I recently completed a MOC of 100-Ton Hopper car. I modeled it after a
"Proto 1000 Series" HO scale kit I borrowed from my brother. I wasn't able
to get the ribbing to line up in the middle of the car and I think the
wheels could benefit from a spring between them. Otherwise, I think it came
out fairly well.

Comments, questions and criticisms are welcome.

Very nice!

When you get a chance, can you post some closeup photos, and/or description
about how you achieved this effect?

Jake
