It is not that simple.
This supply of sets is likely warehouse stock that was never even purchased
by Target Corp or was and never made it to any retail stores to be sold to
consumers. Either way, it remains in a Lego warehouse to be sold now.
Target stores only stocked this item on shelves for a few short
months--never really giving consumers the chance to buy it before it was
clearanced and moved out the door. A real shame. I am sure that the Lego
company produced several thousands more units than Target warehouses even
ordered. Now, Lego must sell them to re-coup their costs.
I found out even before this item went on Sale at Target stores that Target
would not be keeping this item on its shelves. I immediately tried to order
as many as 3 dozen copies of this set from my local Target toy manager (who
is also a life-long neighbor of over 40 years). He could not order any for
me!!! His calls to the warehouse indicated that none were available to be
shipped to any Target stores. And this was 2 months before the sale prices
took effect!
