I am finally making progress with my project to control DCC systems from a
PC. There are systems out there but I wanted to do my own.
My idea has been to generate the DCC packets in the sound card and I have
finally managed a reasonably simple electronic circuit to take the audio
wave form and create DCC acceptable square waves.
Now all I have to do is write the software to generate the control packets,
I am using Delphi and it looks quite achievable.
The plan is for a maximum of 50 locos or decoders which should take care of
expansion (I only have about 15 now). Decoders will also be used to control
points/switches and maybe station lighting, level crossing arms etc.
If anyone is working on the same sort of thing I would like to hear of your
progesss and of course anything I have learned is available to you too.
