Hi Gianluca,

Hi,Ben,it's been a long time...!

thanks for sharing these pictures of the Itlug!
I would like to know just a little bit more about the Itlug trainheads:

Ok,tell me,I'm ready! :-))

- do you have this room as a permanent club room? (I think the room problem is
one, lots of us suffer at...)

No,it's divided in 5 modules and everyone has his own module at home.

we designed it with Track Designer once we (5 guys, the 6 ones you met at
Zwolle less the tallest one) met at Carlo Ottolina's home and then divided
it in 5 modules.

We decided to assemble and show it to public twice (pre and post-summer
Legofests).
This, also to compare each other's areas (compatibility of architectonic
stiles,colors,etc....)

- how often do you meet per year (per month?)

As Itlug members, about 5 times a year (the so called "legofests")
As layout builders,I never meet the others outside Legofests (because I live
too far away from them), but the Ferrari brothers live in the same town area
and Carlo Ottolina and Ezio Maino live in different towns, but separated by a
10 minutes distance, and, afaik they meet every wednesday to build together
their modules.

- how far over Italy are you spread out? What are the (average and maximum)
ways to go, when you meet? Do you meet always at the same location?

Italy is long and narrow. Too bad :-))
Well, most of us live in the middle/northern part,so LFs (legofests) are
always in the neighbourhoods of Modena and Bologna

- have you plans to present that train layout to the public (or has that
already happened, and I just missed to read about it)?

It is (will be) usually presented at LFs .Its first appearance was in late
july (LF in Modena),but it was 10% completed,as you can see from pics.
It will be assembled again on OCT,6th (LF in Firenze/Florence) and we hope
to bring it to Zwolle.

I think as European neighbours we might share some experiences that differ
from the LTCs in the US and so I am interested in you point of view.

Yes,I agree!!

As you know we have no GATs (or comparable) shows here, so it is difficult to
display a train layout. For a future ITLUG+FGLTC meeting we might ask the
Legoland Park in South Germany (nearly same way for both of us, since FGLTC
is basically active in northern Germany), if they are interested in hosting a
big AFOL-train layout, like the American Legoland did once? But maybe we need
some more town area, before we are ready to do so.

....hmmmm...don't know if such a thing would be possible. We could talk
about it when we meet in Zwolle..

Thanks and hope to see you (+ the other ITLUG people with MOCs) soon in
Zwolle! I am already working on some new buildings for the show there (and
ISCC II entry).

ISCC.....aaaaah,If I had time enough...it's the second one I miss!

BTW,I've added 2 more pics:

(...) Oooh, that Bavarianish train is really cute. Good 3 axle cars! I especially like the shields, are those prototypical? (22 years ago, 25-Sep-02, to lugnet.trains)
