First off, congrats. You've been a wonderful example for clubs all over.
The PNLTC has certainly been the mentor and model for a great many of Lego
train clubs.
You may have some trouble with the first club claim however. Conan and
Chuck were displaying in the 1980s. (http://www.gmltc.org/history.ass) As
to the core of the current group, we started doing joint building of train
modules as early as 1994/5 (I started helping from CT with weird pieces that
may or may not have been liberated from the LEGO Model shop where I worked
at this time.) John 1 was there a few months or a year ahead of me. Back
then it was C&CW railroads. We never named ourselves as a club because we
never envisioned that there would be more than just us. *grin*
And as I remember, there were clubs in Germany that beat Conan and Chuck to
the punch as well.

| Just for historial sake, it started like this... Ben Fleskes drove from Portland to Seattle to visit Will Chapman during his solo effortLEGO train layout. I think Will had done a few of these prior to this one. At Will's layout Ben met Dan Parker (...) (22 years ago, 1-Aug-02, to lugnet.trains)
