I used a clean rag with some CRC brand CO2 solvent sprayed on it. It's safe
with plastics and is used to clean electronics etc. It leaves no residue....

Some other Lugnetters have suggested Methylated Spirits ...

Whatever you use, test it on a unwanted piece of LEGO first to make sure it
doesn't affect it..

Hope that helps

What do you recommend for cleaning the track?

Have you tried cleaning the track?

My 9v was doing something very similar recently, Cleaning the track fixed
the problem.
It wasn't even that dirty, but it's working perfectly now.
