| | | | (...) 'Traction' on it's own is some times used to describe locomotives so 'Spare Traction' might mean locos that aren't being used. - Tractive Effort is the term I think you should use. I'll ask about at work whether it should be 'surplus', (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains)

| | | | (...) English (...) than (...) Hi, The context is the power rating of the loco against the mass of the trains it hauls. Our program tries to minimize the power that is not being used.
